Amazon Red-tail Catfish
The Amazon Red-tail Catfish, has risen from relative obscurity
in Thailand, to one of its primary target species for the angler in just a few short years. This is not without reason, because as well as being an excellent
sport fish that puts up a very spirited battle on rod and line, it is also a very pretty fish, with its body being covered in a suede like skin of beiges, burnt oranges
and creams, and it's armoured head being beautifully mottled. Many anglers feel this fish is now one of the primary targets on a trip to Thailand.

Where to fish for the Amazon Red-tail
The Amazon Redtail is present in nearly all of Thailand's commercial predator fisheries. It reachs very good sizes at IT Lake Monsters and Palm Tree Lagoon, but this fish species grows very quickly and now alreayd other venues such as Greenfield Valley can boast 20kg specimens.
